Dell brings real-time business productivity to the über-connected workplace!

Recently I blogged about the growing market for Unified Communication and Collaboration (UCC) solutions. Companies are increasingly using UCC to simplify and reduce communications costs and maximize productivity for their globally dispersed teams. Many companies have a number of disparate, incompatible communication components, and manage these functions separately (telephony, email/calendaring, audio and video conferencing, instant messaging, intranet). UCC enables companies to bring all these functions into one single platform that can be managed and maintained more efficiently. Dell’s award winning hardware and strong collaboration with Microsoft has resulted in a superior knowledge of Microsoft’s trusted applications such as Lync, SharePoint, and Exchange. This has enabled Dell to come up with an industry leading end-to-end UCC solution. Through Dell’s UCC solution, businesses are successfully connecting employees to each other and to information 24/7. Dell itself has very successful rolled out UCC within Dell. Using Microsoft Lync Server 2010, along with Dell’s own products, Dell employees have seen significant usability improvements, and have experienced extensive cost savings.

Dell’s unique, end-to-end approach provides the choice of Active System (pre-integrated solutions) or start with our modular options that enable you to choose when and where to integrate new capability. Dell Services provides proven expertise, methodology, and world-class support to help design, implement and maintain a UC&C environment. A whiteboard session with one of our Dell consultants can help you identify the specific UC&C capabilities to deploy based on exactly what your business requires. Instead of expecting you to “rip and replace” your current infrastructure, we can work with you to preserve your current IT investment.

Many organizations have Microsoft Exchange in-house with licenses to use Lync but haven’t deployed UCC. Dell can help you to take the tools you already have in place, and then provide you a single point of contact for hardware, software, services and support for an individualized end-to-end UCC solution. In bringing Microsoft software in combination with Dell’s storage, networking, and server hardware – Dell is able to deliver a genuinely connected experience for employees.

With a single platform, leveraging Microsoft applications – employees have a single type of interface they work with across all devices. This helps them to be able to connect with other employees and vendors quickly, improving overall business productivity. Employees are also able to enjoy a “cloud-like” experience, making use of cloud like applications – all with the same efficiency and cost savings as actual cloud providers.

Through Dell’s UCC approach, cost savings are immediate since IT support and management for all these different siloed areas are brought into a single platform – helping IT work with one simplified, manageable system. In addition, businesses lower their overall costs by reducing the number of devices needed to own and support.

In an upcoming post, I will share how a major company has utilized Dell’s unique approach in deploying UCC and are currently experiencing exceptional cost savings and productivity gains, through a connected workforce.
