Did you hear? Dell has a public vCloud ready for the Enterprise

What? You missed the news that Dell has an active public vCloud solution available for Enterprise customers in North America. Well, let me catch you up on our first public cloud solution which will see global expansion into Europe, Asia, and Latin America in 2012.

The Dell public vCloud was formerly launched on October 28, 2011 (full blog post):

Dell has officially launched its first public cloud offering based on VMware technology this morning, allowing enterprise customers the flexibility and efficiency of virtualization without the expense of building, maintaining, and managing an ever-growing hardware infrastructure.

The Dell Cloud provides a secure, flexible option for customers looking for additional capacity to handle spikes in demand or cost savings by not building additional data centers. Leveraging VMware technology, the Dell Cloud provides a seamless extension of existing enterprise infrastructure running on the industry leading VMware platform.

Dell believes that our customers are looking for complete end-to-end solutions with private, public, and hybrid cloud capabilities to meet their unique requirements. The newly available public vCloud is first in a number of public and hybrid cloud capabilities that Dell intends to roll out in 2012 to ensure that our customers’ solution needs are met. Over the next few months I will be posting the latest information on our cloud roadmap ensuring that you are directly tied into Dell’s cloud plans for 2012 and beyond. As is usual, please feel to contact me via comments in this blog or via @SpectorAtDell or stephen.spector@dell.com.
