Tens of thousands of enthusiasts flock to PAX East 2015 every year, one of the largest gaming events in North America. For gamers, for the community, Alienware just can’t show up empty handed. We will kick off PAX East 2015 by revealing new details on our partnership with Valve. If that wasn’t enough, we hit an industry-first milestone for the AlienFX lighting effects.

The Valve Steam Controller Lands at the Alienware Booth at PAX East

This week Valve announced the company’s revolutionary Steam Controller will be available for purchase in November 2015. Alienware will deliver the first public access to the new controller; PAX East attendees that visit the Alienware booth will be among the first to demo it live.

The Steam Controller will be powered by an Alienware Steam Machine equipped with  NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX GPU 2GB GDDR5 graphics and Intel® Core processors. Alienware performance and Valve innovation combine to bring high performance HD gaming to over 980 game titles in the massive Steam games library, all in an unprecedented console experience.

Today, the same great performance combined with full desktop functionality can be found in the Alienware Alpha running on Windows. Because these systems are Steam Machine ready now, Alienware Alpha owners can seamlessly convert SteamOS to their console in November when the controller is released. This simple transition will not void your warranty and both operating systems will be available for users to decide the right experience for them.

We’re excited to reveal that the forthcoming Linux-based Alienware Steam Machine will start at $479. The very same $479 entry level model was demoed at Valve’s GDC booth running CS:GO at 120FPS! Be sure to get the latest details on Alienware, the Steam Machine and more by following us on Twitter, Facebook, Alienware Arena, our product page on Steam, and our website.

AlienFX Lights Up 100+ Game Titles

AlienFX allows users to personalize their Alienware systems by adjusting LED lighting colors as well as special effects settings. Lights will pulse, strobe and change color based on gameplay, resulting in a brilliant effects experience completely customized to your personal style. Alienware works closely with game developers to integrate AlienFX into top gaming titles like Dying Light, Shadow of Mordor, and The Talos Principle. We are excited to announce that AlienFX is now integrated into 104 (and counting!) game titles and applications. This is an industry milestone, and we are proud to empower gamers with a unique experience that allows their victories to have a personal touch.
