Announcing New Blog Series from Dell Cloud Services: How to Better Manage Your Cloud

The recent acquisition of Quest Software by Dell has also delivered the unique and powerful vOPS and vFoglight solutions from VKernel to the end-to-end cloud solution for Dell customers:

This acquisition more or less instantly positions Dell as a leader in the virtualization management space with strong entries in the Performance and Capacity Management segment (vKernel and vFoglight), the Applications Performance Management segment (Foglight), the Cloud Management segment (the existing DynamicOps/Dell VIS Creator relationship), Data Protection through the previously acquired AppAssure assets, and Security through the Quest One and previously acquired SonicWall assets.  – Bernd Harzog, Virtualization Practice

This new joint blog series is a collaboration between Mattias Sundling, Dell vKernel Evangelist (@msundling) and Stephen Spector, Dell Cloud Evangelist (@SpectorAtDell). The new blogs will provide customers with deep insight into the variety of ways that virtualization configuration and management impacts public and private VMware cloud solutions. The #DellSolves blog platform is the home of this new blog collaboration and we encourage readers to follow that blog for this series and other great service solution information from Dell.

Planned topics for the blog series:

  • Five Capacity Management Challenges for Private Clouds
  • Guessing is Not a Strategy: The Science of Capacity Management
  • Planning for Performance and Capacity in Virtual Environments
  • The Top 20 VMware Performance Metrics You Should Care About
  • Ins and Outs of IOPS
  • Memory Management Metrics for VMware Environments

Of course, we are always interested in topics submitted from our readers so please respond to any of our blogs, contact us via twitter, or email Mattias or Stephen with your requests.
