Last year, Teradici® introduced PCoIP® Workstation Access Software for Dell Precision, enabling organizations to mobilize Dell workstation users with a flexible, secure, easy-to-deploy software solution that provides instant access to a rich remote computing experience.
Untethered from their physical workstation, Dell Precision users can now seamlessly connect to their workstation from any compatible end point – whether a laptop, tablet or mobile device – to review, edit and present their work on-the-go, from a conference room, or at home.
Cator, Ruma & Associates and Hi-Tek Manufacturing were among the first companies to leverage Teradici PCoIP Workstation Access Software for Dell Precision, making it possible for employees to access their workstations and 3D applications from anywhere for the same high-fidelity experience as if they were sitting at their desks.
Cator, Ruma & Associates, a growing engineering services firm with 80 employees – many of whom work remotely on customer sites – required a simple solution that would boost productivity in the field, while being easy for IT to deploy and manage.
With Teradici PCoIP Workstation Access Software, now mobile workers can count on uncompromised visual quality and performance when tapping into applications hosted on dual-monitor workstations at the Cator, Ruma & Associates home office, even under constrained network conditions and/or bandwidth limitations.

Hi-Tek Manufacturing, a leading manufacturing services provider for industrial gas turbine and aerospace industries with over 200 employees, required a solution that would: dramatically improve CAD workstation reliability in conference rooms, allow IT to quickly deploy new engineering workstations, and enable the company to tap into a broader base of talent beyond the local area.
In conference rooms, workstations were squeezed into audio-visual cabinets lacking adequate airflow and cooling. Dissipated heat and extreme temperatures in the cabinets resulted in high workstation failure rates, which were costly and disruptive to compute-intensive design review meetings.
By equipping some of their workstations with Teradici PCoIP Workstation Access Software, Hi-Tek was able to remotely host desktop sessions for display on PCoIP Zero Clients in conference rooms. The small footprint and much cooler operation of the Zero Clients solved the problem of the workstation failures.
The addition of Teradici PCoIP Workstation Access Software also enabled Hi-Tek Manufacturing to recruit engineers outside of the local region, and the Dell Precision workstations were simple to set up and easy to manage.
