CRN Again Honors Dell Leaders on Top 100 List

Each year, CRN presents its Top 100 list which recognizes the key players who continue to shape the way the channel does business. CRN describes the list as a collection of "the IT industry's foremost leaders." This year, the publication’s editorial staff hand-picked the 100 key players who represent the top influencers, sales leaders, innovators and disruptors who are changing the way the IT channel operates.

Today we are proud to announce that four Dell executives were recognized on the 2016 Top 100 list; I am humbled to be included as a Top 25 Channel Sales Leader:

  • Michael Dell – Most Influential Executives: Michael led Dell's transformation to a private company and made it clear that a private Dell was committed to rapid growth and its fast-growing channel business. He has personally focused on developing Dell Channel relationships to create unmatched value with our Dell Solutions. Michael’s vision to bring together Dell + EMC will position the combined company as a technology powerhouse which will create more customer and partner value.
  • Marius HaasTop 25 Disrupters: Marius leads the Dell sales, engineering and marketing teams that deliver world-class innovative technology solutions for Dell’s customers and partners worldwide. Marius is the architect of the current Dell channel business which represents +40% of the company’s overall revenue.
  • Cheryl Cook – Top 25 Innovators: Cheryl is responsible for setting the channel partner strategy company-wide, channel programs, training, certification and global marketing that enable partners to grow their business.  She has focused on adding value to the PartnerDirect program and providing the technology, tools and strength of the Dell brand to make it easier for partners to bring innovative IT solutions to its customers.

We’re also pleased to see that Gregg Ambulos, senior vice president of global channel sales for EMC, and Jeremy Burton, president of products and marketing for EMC and future Chief Marketing Officers of the combined Dell and EMC companies, were named in the Top 25 Channel Sales Leader and Top 25 Innovator categories, respectively.

Congratulations to all for this well-deserved honor!

Due to the efforts of these leaders and our dedicated colleagues, Dell channel continues to exceed expectations outgrowing the market by three times the revenue growth. We have also seen the majority of North America key partners with double digit growth.

Training continues to be a key driver of our channel success. With over 4,600 certified partners globally Dell is one of the top vendors with a channel business at this magnitude. Partner engagement has been incredible as well with the number of competencies being completed by partners globally increasing. Across our top 100 North America partners by training investment, their revenue has grown over 30 percent year over year.

We also added new business incentives, rewarding partners who bring Dell into new accounts and/or additional product lines with current customers, and we’re pleased to see growth with these partners. Over 2,000 North American Premier and Preferred Partners received new benefits with over 1,100 partners eligible for new base rebates and new business incentive revenue increased by almost twenty-five percent.

These milestones and the recognition of these Dell and EMC leaders by CRN demonstrates how committed the company is to its channel business now and into the future. As we move closer to the date of completing the Dell + EMC deal, and as I assume responsibility for the combined channel programs, I appreciate and am thrilled at the opportunities ahead for our teams to build the strongest channel program driven by the most channel DNA in the industry. We are better together!
