“What I am most excited about looking forward, is the increased focus to build on the entrepreneurial spirit the company was founded on,” he adds.

“Back in the late 1980s there was a popular song called ‘The Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades.’ It summed up how we felt about the future back then and the future ahead of us now.” And he still has the t-shirt to prove it!

Kocian has seen Dell grow from shipping 300 computers a day when he was a production manager to now shipping millions and he credits the quality of his teammates across the company with growing it these first 30 years: “You only get stronger by working with the strongest of people.”

Another organization packed with high quality talent is CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research. Dell technology is powering new research studies to process and analyze data from hundreds of labs and universities. All with the goal of telling us more about what the universe is made of and how it began.

We believe that with the right technology in place, information born of big data will change our world for the better in the next 30 years and beyond.
