I saw that Fast Company recently blogged about this, and I thought it might be worth sharing. Dell is the number one green technology brand, according to a global “green” enterprise IT study released today by Strategic Oxygen and Cohn & Wolfe. The study surveyed more than 3,500 enterprise IT decision makers (C-level executives, CIOs, IT managers and line-of-business managers) in 11 countries “about 26 enterprise technology brands to determine their perceptions of "green" IT, products and marketing.”

Among the attributes considered in this survey, Dell was recognized for our comprehensive recycling program, which makes computer recycling free to consumers worldwide.

We’re working hard to become the greenest technology company on the planet, and we’re taking a number of actions to get there:

Commitment to the environment is part of every company’s corporate responsibility, but it’s more than that to us at Dell. Thinking “green” makes us operate more efficiently and serve our customers more effectively, and those tenets are at the core of any strong business.

We continue to learn which aspects of “green” matter most to customers. According to the study, the green brand-product attributes that most clearly impact purchase decisions include:

At Dell, we’ve made great progress on these fronts, but we can – and will – do better. And while it’s great to be ranked No. 1, what really matters is that the entire industry is getting focused on how we can help save our planet. We’ll continue to do our part, and challenge others to join the movement, because the ultimate winner is the Earth we all share.
