First #DellVenue in Taipei Opens for Global Introduction of New Tablets, 2-in-1s and All-in-Ones

Ni hao from Taiwan!

I am excited to be in Taipei with Ray Wah, Neil Hand and our Client Solutions team introducing some innovative new products in our PC and tablet portfolios while the eyes of the world are focused on the future technologies being premiered here at the Computex show. I am especially happy that we announced our new products here as Asian markets are becoming increasingly important for Dell and we are designing a number of products to specifically meet the needs of customers in Asia.

As a testament to this commitment, we built out a #DellVenue pop-up experience here at the renowned LMNT [Element] Café in downtown Taipei, our first outside the US and hosted a press conference to present our new tablets and consumer PCs. These devices are all designed to beautifully bridge the worlds of work and play with innovative form factors and a host of compelling new features.

These new products boast some impressive features, providing consumers with smooth performance and attractive design at an affordable prices.  Here’s a quick recap of what we announced:

  • Tablets that enable a world without wires.  We introduced leadership displays on the next generation Venue 7 and Venue 8 that are high brightness, high color and have the highest resolution in their class. And with our new Venue 8 tablet you never have to worry about being charged when you easily drop it onto our Wireless Charging Dock while continuing to use it. You can also wirelessly mirror the display of the new Venue 7 and Venue 8 to a large screen TV or other PC monitor to share pictures or watch movies.  Finally both the tablets feel great in your hands with the soft touch textured finish that is standard.
  • Continuing to lead creation of the exciting new category of portable All-in-Ones.  We announced latest generation processor upgrades on our ground-breaking XPS 18 which continues to be 2-3 times lighter than competitors with twice the battery life.  And we introduced the Inspiron 20 3000 Series AIO which at $349 for a 19.5-inch HD+ display is the price and feature leader in the category.
  • Leading customers to a more flexible future with a complete family of 2-in-1s.  We added two products to our consumer 2-in-1 portfolio by announcing the 11.6-inch Inspiron 11 3000 Series and the 13.3-inch Inspiron 13 7000 Series.  These products hit mainstream price points and provide bright IPS touch displays with edge-to-edge glass and wide viewing angles. They offer smooth, reliable 360 degree hinges, allowing customers to move efficiently from laptop to easel to tent to tablet mode.

All of the newly announced products will be on display at the Taipei #DellVenue over the next three days in a trendy shopping and eating district that is a short walk from the Taiwan International Convention Center. We hosted the press here last night and it is styled with an interactive layout, a place to sit and relax or catch up, and an attractive display of our leadership product portfolio.
