Human Rights Campaign logoAt Dell, we support diversity and inclusion not just because it’s the right thing to do, but also because it makes us a stronger company that can better serve our customers.

We are honored and proud that the Human Rights Campaign, the largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Americans, has given Dell a perfect score on its 2013 Corporate Equality Index — marking the ninth year Dell has received the top mark. The index provides in-depth analysis and ratings of large employers and their policies pertaining to LGBT team members.

In particular, HRC looks at practices such as:

  • Equal employment opportunities that include protection for sexual orientation and gender identity.

  • Equivalent medical benefits for different-sex spouses and same-sex partners.

  • Comprehensive diversity training, resources and accountability that includes issues pertinent to the LGBT community.

  • Public support of the LGBT community through efforts such as team member recruitment and employee resource groups, philanthropic support and support for LGBT equality legislation.

At Dell, our Pride employee resource group provides networking opportunities and career support for our LGBT and ally team members. In addition, Dell supports the passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which would provide basic protections against workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.

To reiterate, we’re a stronger organization because of our commitment to the success of all our team members.  Together, the perspectives  our team members bring from more than 80 countries and countless backgrounds, cultures, talents, career experiences and ways of thinking, make Dell a more innovative and successful company.
