Dell XPS 10 Windows RT tablet and XPS Duo 12 Ultrabook make appearance at IFA

Today at the Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA) tradeshow, Sam Burd and Aongus Hegarty were on hand to share details on a few new products: the Dell XPS 10 Windows RT tablet, the XPS Duo 12 convertible Ultrabook and a touch-enabled version of our award-winning XPS One 27 all-in-one computer.

Update from Lionel: Here’s video that features highlights from Dell’s XPS event at IFA:

Here’s a picture of a crowd of folks around the XPS Duo 12 on the ground at IFA (click on the image to see a larger version of it). I’ve also added several more photos from on the ground at IFA here in this Google+ album.

Here’s a bit more detail on each:

Dell XPS 10 Windows RT tablet:

The ARM processor-based XPS 10 is designed to run Microsoft’s upcoming Windows RT operating system. The XPS 10 will be able to handle work and play in a slick package that brings together long battery life with a mobile keyboard dock for either business productivity or other content creation tasks.

Dell XPS Duo 12 convertible Ultrabook:

This 12-inch device features a flip hinge touchscreen Full HD display that allows it to easily convert from an Ultrabook laptop to a tablet depending on your needs at any given time. The Full HD (1920×1080) display means text will look sharp, and images and videos will look great when you play them back too. Beyond featuring a great-looking design, the XPS Duo 12 is crafted from premium materials like machined aluminum, carbon fiber and durable Corning Gorilla Glass.

XPS One 27 All-in-One (AIO) PC:

Regular readers of Direct2Dell may remember my post about Dell’s award-winning XPS One 27 All-in-One desktop. The same brilliant Wide Quad HD (2560×1440) display that helped make the XPS One 27 such a success will also come with a touch-enabled option ready for Windows 8 in the future.

We offered the XPS 13 Ultrabook with business-class features when we launched it back in early March this year. Business adoption of the XPS 13 is a key reason for its success. We’ve added the XPS 14 and 15 laptops to the mix and not too long ago we introduced CAB files for all three products to assist large enterprise customers who want to deploy XPS machines on a wider scale. The XPS 10 Windows RT tablet, the XPS Duo 12 convertible Ultrabook and the updated XPS One 27 AIO computer are also designed with business users’ needs as well. End result, with these new products our XPS line will bridge the gap between home and business use to accommodate the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) trend that many of you have been reading about. See today’s press release for more insight on the BYOD topic.

The XPS 10, the XPS Duo 12 convertible Ultrabook and the updated XPS One 27 AIO will be available for sale when Windows 8 is available at the end of October. You can expect to see more details for all three products here on Direct2Dell between now and then.
