Ensuring your next step in BYOD is the right one with Dell Mobility Solutions

Today, we announced Dell’s new family of mobility solutions, which are designed to help companies adopt BYOD in a way that best suits their organizational needs, regardless of their individual requirements, or where they are on their BYOD implementation. Dell Mobility Solutions will make it easier to extend and manage mobile access, increase the security of data that is accessed remotely, broaden network access to better support BYOD, and improve the experience of users as they access business applications from a variety of mobile devices.

We’ve seen BYOD heat up significantly over the past one to two years and in working with our customers and surveying worldwide IT leads, we’ve been able to get to the heart of the issue. Our recently released BYOD survey helped us take the pulse of the industry, and we know that organizations worldwide fear they will be left behind if they don’t embrace BYOD.

Most organizations have a variety of usage models (Corporate-Owned, Choose-Your-Own or Bring-Your-Own) and must match these models up to roles and policies. We’ve pinpointed where the complexity in corporate environments resides, and how and where this will evolve over time.

Dell is uniquely positioned to deliver these solutions, and the advantages we offer are numerous. We can leverage our decades of experience working on customer devices as well as our expertise as an end-to-end provider of secure mobile solutions to help manage everything from the devices themselves, to network access and applications. Our mobility solutions provide the core components necessary to enable BYOD programs, and offer customers the flexibility to integrate them easily into their existing IT landscape while providing the agility to grow as the business grows. We will continue to integrate and enhance, but the full range of products and services that make up these solution sets is AVAILABLE TODAY, allowing companies around the world to realize immediate business value.

From our own experiences, and hundreds of conversations, we know customers will take a variety of approaches to deploying BYOD based on their security requirements and the complexity of their environments. Our mobility offerings are grouped into four solutions designed to address all of these diverse requirements. Together, they enable mobile access and applications, ease transformations to the cloud, provide a secure network-access extension and enable new and existing modern business applications to be extended easily to a wide variety of end-user devices.

In my opinion, Green Clinic offers a terrific example of an organization that has leveraged Dell’s mobility solutions to move forward securely with BYOD adoption. At Dell’s “The Power to Do More—Accelerating Results” event, held in San Francisco today, Jason Thomas, CIO and IT Director of Green Clinic, joins me and other industry leaders and global customers to share his personal BYOD perspective. Jason will be with me on the main stage and will also participate in a breakout session, entitled “Embrace Consumerization and BYOD,” to discuss the business drivers behind Green Clinic’s adoption of BYOD, as well as the critical role compliance plays in how he manages and secures the environment and all access to corporate data.  He’ll highlight key issues Green Clinic encountered as they implemented BYOD, and address plans to future-proof the company as new devices are introduced.

Update from Lionel:  Here's the part one video of Dell's event from earlier today:

 and here's part two:

Green Clinic’s story is quite compelling and it covers the gamut of Dell’s connected security solutions, including Dell KACE, SecureWorks, SonicWALL and Wyse, which have enabled the organization to meet existing system management requirements, while addressing the growing need for BYOD and virtualization. Dell KACE helped speed up deployment of the clinic’s electronic medical records system, while SonicWALL and SecureWorks helped mitigate the risk of viruses and security breaches, as well as going a step above to achieve HIPAA compliance. Finally, Dell’s virtual desktop infrastructure allows physicians and administrators to work productively and securely, with EMR access from any location, on any Internet-connected device.

No matter where your company is in its adoption of BYOD, the new Dell Mobility Solutions offer all the tools companies need to support their BYOD strategy, streamline mobility management, and reduce any obstacles encountered along the way.
