2010 has been jam-packed for Dell Gaming in just a few short months. It started early in January with the launch of our compact gaming laptop, the Alienware M11x at CES, which has been causing a stir. Over in Europe, Alienware joined Intel as head sponsor of the Electronic Sports League (ESL), the leading European league in electronic sports (eSports). Throughout 2010, the ESL Pro Series competitors will game on the Alienware M17x gaming laptop – the fastest laptop on earth, and official tournament laptop for the season – at matches throughout Europe. The ESL will also be making appearances at some big shows in Europe later this year including the Festival du Jeu Video (Paris Games Festival) in Paris, France, and Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.
The season kicked off earlier this month at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany, the world's largest trade fair for digital IT and communication solutions, with the first Intel Friday Night Game of the year. This was quickly followed by the Gadget Show Live, which took place in Birmingham, UK, this past weekend. This is an exciting show, with lots of quirky gadgets on display. The ESL stopped off in the Game Zone with a pro-gaming program including exhibition matches of Counter Strike: Source, Quake Live, and Trackmania. Visitors also had the opportunity to experience Alienware first-hand, where casual and expert gamers alike tested their skills with a variety of games and competed against friends for bragging rights – all on the latest Alienware gaming systems.
