Go Behind the Scenes with Linkin Park and Dell Precision

The thing I love most about my job is meeting with customers and learning about their limitless creativity and incredible work, and the latest Linkin Park music video, created on Dell Precision workstations, is no exception.

Joe Hahn, band member and video director for Linkin Park and post production powerhouse, Ghost Town Media, sought to create an Armageddon in a cyberpunk world for the video for their latest single, “A Light That Never Comes,” featuring Steve Aoki.  Early on Joe and the Ghost Town team realized their Apple desktops couldn’t handle the intense 3D graphics and massive files – so they turned to Dell’s video production expertise and solutions.

Working closely with our Media & Entertainment strategists, Linkin Park and Ghost Town Media selected powerful Dell Precision workstations with high-performance NVIDIA Quadro K6000 professional graphics processing units (GPUs), tuned and optimized for running the most graphically-intensive digital content creation applications.  Dell and NVIDIA collaborated with their team throughout the project to help them maximize the greatest efficiencies and produce a ground breaking music video ahead of production schedule.

Our goal is to provide the most powerful and reliable technology so I love hearing that one of the biggest benefits for Linkin Park and Ghost Town Media was that the Precision workstations performed efficiently and quickly around the clock without fail, enabling them to spend more time delivering their creative vision.

The creation process for Linkin Park’s newest music video, “A Light That Never Comes,” is captured in the ‘making of’ video featured on www.dell.com/linkinpark

Both fans and customers alike can learn how Dell Precision was used to help bring the creative vision of Joe Hahn into a reality and “deliver scenes of this scale that were not previously impossible.” Stay tuned for more announcements about other blockbuster films and award-winning music videos driven by Dell Precision technology.
