Making it easier for customers to choose, buy and own Dell

We’re on a mission to become the easiest technology company to do business with – period!

Dell has a rich heritage of listening and engaging directly with our customers. It’s the common thread woven throughout our 29-year history and the foundation of the direct business model that propelled our success. So it’s only natural that we use these customer insights to help solve your biggest technology challenges, today and in the future.

That’s why we’re transforming how we operate and making it easier for you to choose, buy and own a Dell PC. As reported in late March, we simplified segmentation on our website to make it easier for you to find and purchase the systems you need for work or for home. Today, we’re taking it a step further with Smart Selection – our simplified product catalog that features our most popular laptop, desktop, tablet and workstation configurations to make it easier for you to find what you need, fast.

Now, all you have to do is tell us if you’re buying for home or work and then choose the product that best fits your needs. The selections are based on popular configurations best-suited to meet your needs as well as insights from more than two billion conversations we have with customers every year. Smart Selection systems will offer the best customer experience because they are delivered faster than ever and include great service and support. They represent the best value at all price points from mainstream to performance PCs. Along with these richly configured systems, we hand select software and peripheral offerings, matched to each unique product to make the buying experience even better for you.

For commercial products, Dell also offers world class configuration services so systems are deployment-ready when they reach you. We can add software imaging, BIOS settings and asset tagging making the manageability easier for IT – something our customers have long valued from Dell.

Smart Selection is the latest example of how we’re making improvements in all aspects of our customers’ experience, and we’ll continue to keep you updated on our progress via future Direct2Dell posts. We’re excited to hear your feedback on this latest improvement, so please share your thoughts with us here or on dell.com once you’ve completed your first Smart Selection purchase.
