More on the PCD5SRVC.PKMS Dell Support Center Fix

Since I blogged about the fix for the PCD5SRVC.PKMS issue last weekend, I'm still seeing some comments from folks like Barry Bornstein and T. Catt asking for more clarification.

The easiest way is to do this:

  • Unistall your current version of Dell Support Center (more details on how to do this is below)
  • Dowload the latest version here
  • Run the installation of the new version

To uninstall Dell Support Center, you need to go to the Control Panel. If you're running Windows XP, you need to look for an icon that says Add/Remove Programs. In Vista, look in the Programs section to click on Uninstall a program

Here's a shot of what my Uninstall screen looks like in Vista:

From there, highlight Dell Support Center, and click Uninstall. Then, if you choose you can run the install on the new version of Dell Support Center, which you can download here.

If you still have problems with Dell Support Center after going through this process, I apologize for the frustration. Please submit a comment after you've entered your e-mail address in that field. From there, I can have someone contact you directly.
