More Than 1,000,000 Votes Later, Final 150 Entries Named in the Facebook/ReGeneration Graffiti Contest

Last week, I blogged about the top 150 entries for our Facebook graffiti contest, and wanted to bring the the conversation over to Direct2Dell. On behalf of the entire ReGeneration team, I'd like to thank the over 7,000 Facebook users who took part in this.  The quality of artwork the contestants submitted truly boggles the mind, especially considering that many of these entries were created with no more than a mouse and an idea.

The Facebook graffiti community weighed in with over 1 million votes. Now the drawings with the most votes have moved on a panel of judges who will decide which artists are to receive the Dell 22″ ultrasharp flat panel monitors.  Select entries will also be featured as part of an online showcase highlighting different perspectives on the meaning of ‘green.’

Winners will be chosen from each of the following categories:

  • Most creative
  • Best landscape
  • Best use of animal life
  • Best use of plant life
  • Most inspiring

Our judges have some very tough decisions to make.  The winners will be annouced later this week exclusively on ReGeneration.org.  Here are a few of the images that made the top 150. As a reminder, like Lionel mentioned in my last post, I've hyperlinked these drawings to take you directly into the Facebook gallery for a closer look, and clicking on the Replay button (see just below) will show you an animated replay of how the drawing was done.

I was also glad to see some good discussion about the contest at LA Times and ChasNote.  Thanks again to everyone for making this event a success.
