Partnering together for our customers’ future: Dell and Oracle

For many years, Dell and Oracle have partnered to bring our customers the best possible solutions for database and application management on Dell infrastructure. Today at Oracle OpenWorld we are taking that relationship one step further.

There has been a great deal of discussion among customers, partners, press and analysts following last June’s Dell Enterprise Forum announcement, and  this morning’s keynote remarks from Michael extend this partnership. To succeed, we build on each other’s strengths to bring to market a partnership that serves our customers with the best technology for the right solution.

Oracle Enterprise Manager is the primary framework for Oracle products and today at Oracle OpenWorld this week, we are demonstrating the integration of Dell OpenManage with Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c. No other company has brought this to market, and our customers tell us they are excited that they will be able to manage all of their Dell systems, servers, storage, networking devices, plus all of their workloads and applications, from a single Oracle Enterprise Manager console.

Further, today we announced Dell Active Infrastructure for Oraclewhich supports the configuration and implementation of Oracle Linux, Oracle VM Manager, and Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c on Dell hardware.

We also have an exciting roadmap planned for the products in the Dell software group, many of which are made better by this relationship. We remain committed to our Quest products; and similar integrations have happened with our Toad product line. There are over one million Toad customers worldwide, and Dell is committing to sponsoring those customers via a very active online community

In today’s speech, Michael was very clear that the path to the future starts with the customer and ends with the customer. As the video demo below demonstrates, this relationship will increase productivity and efficiency for our customers, by giving them the best tools to extend their current environments with maximum efficiency. This is the first step in a continued relationship in engineered systems that will continue to bring greater value, and most of all bring our customers the best technology for the best solution.
