In honor of America Recycles Day tomorrow, Nov. 15, I’m happy to announce that Dell Reconnect is saying ‘aloha’ and expanding to Hawaii. This month, the program launched in seven Goodwill Industries of Hawaii locations on the island of Oahu.
Worldwide, Dell is committed to helping our customers protect the environment (and their valuable data) by offering recycling programs that are easy to use, convenient, effective, secure and responsible. In North America, we work with Goodwill through the Dell Reconnect program, which offers consumers free recycling for any brand of used computer equipment at thousands of Goodwill locations in the United States and Canada.
The Dell Reconnect program, offered in 44 U.S. states and two Canadian provinces, takes all brands of used computer equipment in any condition — with proceeds from the resale value returned to Goodwill. It keeps computers out of landfills and ensures they’re recycled responsibly, in adherence to Dell’s strict global standards. It provides families with lower-cost access to technology, with well-priced refurbished computers. And it creates green jobs for workers at Goodwill who sort and repair the systems, helping to fulfill Goodwill’s mission of putting people back to work.
