This year’s Microsoft TechEd conference is especially significant for Dell. Not only are we traveling just next door to Houston to participate in this major event in our industry, we also will reaffirm our almost 30-year commitment to Microsoft environments with new offerings for virtualization, systems management and cloud computing. After last week’s celebration of Dell’s 30th birthday, this week we reinforce the partnership with Microsoft that has been a foundation of our business almost from the beginning.
Adding to our excitement this year is the fact that several Dell products, including Dell Software’s AppAssure, Dell Toad Development Suite for SQL Server, Dell Foglight for Virtualization and Dell Quad Video Thin Client are Best of TechEd Award finalists, chosen from more than 200 entries that were evaluated on their strategic importance to the market, competitive advantage, and overall value to customers. We couldn’t be more proud.
We’re equally proud of the new Dell products making their debut at TechEd, and showcased in booth number 1601. Designed for organizations of all sizes, our new solutions for Active Directory and Exchange virtualization management; migration and management of Active Directory; and improvements to our cloud client computing offerings enable our customers to manage, monitor and optimize their Microsoft environments to reduce downtime, and increase productivity and revenue.
Our newest release of Dell Active Administrator is an integrated and proactive Microsoft Active Directory administration solution that complements and goes beyond native tool capabilities to address the most critical aspects of Active Directory, from a single console. Dell Foglight for Microsoft Active Directory and Foglight for Microsoft Exchange Server are designed specifically for virtualized Active Directory (AD) and Exchange server installations, and monitor the performance of those environments to pinpoint the impact of performance problems as they affect the entire virtual infrastructure.
And that’s not all. We’ll also be showcasing the newest version of the Dell KACE K1000 Systems Management Appliance, which helps customers prepare and secure their IT environments in the wake of the “Internet of Things,” megatrend. Updates to this appliance provide greater visibility across the entire IT infrastructure for improved endpoint security. Also on view in the Dell booth is Dell Wyse Datacenter for Microsoft VDI and vWorkspace, which launched earlier this year and is designed for organizations looking for a flexible, scalable solution to leverage their datacenter investment and existing expertise in Microsoft infrastructure. It allows for secure, flexible access to data and applications, and features simplified management that doesn’t compromise data security, control and compliance.
And, as Microsoft’s largest OEM partner for Microsoft Storage Spaces, Dell’s Tech Ed announcements also include solutions that optimize the benefits of Storage Spaces and accelerate the performance of Microsoft environments, including first-time Dell PowerVault MD3060e enclosure support for PowerEdge servers, including the PowerEdge R620, R720 and R720xd.
