Release of Dell Quickstart Data Warehouse 2000 Hits Sweet Spot for Mid Market

Data warehouses no longer have to be considered ‘nice to have’ among mid-sized organizations already working with limited IT budgets. Today, Dell is announcing the availability of the Quickstart Data Warehouse Appliance 2000 (QSDW2000) – a powerful 12 terabyte data warehouse solution at a price point that makes it available for the traditionally underserved mid-market. The QSDW2000 makes it easier for companies to analyze their data and gain valuable insight that will help them drive better business outcomes.

The market is already taking notice.  According to Carl Olofson, Research Vice President, Application Development and Deployment, IDC, “Users needing a data warehouse to intelligently manage their enterprises are often frustrated by the time and initial cost involved in setting up such a warehouse. The Dell Quickstart Data Warehouse Appliance definitely addresses an underserved market segment in which alternatives have been too expensive or complicated.  This is a great opportunity for Dell to seize."

Dell and Microsoft worked as one team throughout the design and development process to make sure that we leveraged all features of the hardware and software to bring a fully optimized data warehouse appliance to market.

The QSDW2000 holds more than double the user data of its predecessor, the Quickstart Data Warehouse 1000 announced in July, and exemplifies the power of a converged Dell hardware, software and services solution. The appliance runs on the Dell PowerEdge 12th generation server and Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Data Warehouse Appliance Edition. Included as part of the QSDW2000, Dell Boomi software allows for easy integration of data from any source including cloud, and the appliance also includes Dell services for start-up and training assistance to give customers a successful start. A year of quarterly health checks is also included to ensure a customer’s ongoing success with their data warehouse implementation.

There’s no need to wait. The QSDW2000 is shipping today. For more information, visit Dell.com/quickstartdw
