Newsweek Names Dell “Greenest Company in America”

US500 Greenest Companies listThe
green buzz at Dell's Round Rock, Texas headquarters is almost palpable today.
Team members here and around the world are celebrating that, with the help of
our customers and suppliers, Dell has topped Newsweek's Greenest Companies in America
for 2010.

This
truly is the result of collaboration at every level of our business.

We're
working with our suppliers to reduce inefficiency and the carbon impacts of our
entire supply chain.

Customer
input has helped us to design products that compute more while consuming less.
Thanks to the energy management features on our OptiPlex business computers,
Dell customers have saved more than $5 billion in energy costs since 2006, for
example. See the real-time savings calculator at www.dell.com/earth.

Customers'
need for better packaging helped inspire our use of bamboo packaging, a strong rapid
renewable that protects products in transit and is compostable for easy
disposal.

And
as a result to our customers' commitment to recycling, our recycling programs have diverted more
than 484 million pounds of equipment from landfills since 2006.

Customers
who strive to be more environmentally responsible inspire us to continually
find better ways to design our solutions and run our business. And the
efficiencies that those customers realize from greener practices, products and
services are reward enough for us.

We
couldn't be more proud to top Newsweek's Greenest Companies in America, but we
recognize we didn't accomplish this alone.

THANK
YOU to our suppliers, partners and customers who help us find a better, greener
way every day. And while I'm on the topic, what can we do to help you be more
green? Are there more services that we could offer? Are there other ideas you
have that can help us take the next step? Please let us know.
